About Age of War
Age of War is a browser strategy game that lets you evolve through historical ages, commanding armies and defenses to destroy the enemy base and survive.
Gameplay
In Age of War, your mission is to protect your base while attacking the enemy's fortifications. You start in the earliest era with only simple units and basic defenses, and as you fight and earn experience, you advance through historical stages of warfare.
Each age unlocks new units, stronger defensive turrets, and powerful special attacks that can turn the tide of battle. Players must balance offense and defense to manage resources, choose the right units, and time their evolution.
How to control
Controls in Age of War are simple and mouse-driven:
- Left click to spawn units, build turrets, and interact with UI elements.
- Click the Evolve button once you have enough experience to advance to the next age.
- Use special ability icons to trigger age-specific, powerful attacks.
Everything is handled through clicking (or tapping on mobile), making the action game easy to pick up yet strategically deep as you decide what to build and when.
Five ages
Age of War takes you on a war journey through five distinct eras, each with its own theme, units, and strategies:
- Stone Age - Primitive warriors, basic melee units, and simple rock-throwing defenses.
- Castle Age - Medieval soldiers, such as knights and archers, with improved fortifications.
- Renaissance Age - Gunpowder enters the scene with musketeers and cannons.
- Modern Age - Tanks, machine guns, and aerial support dominate the battlefield.
- Future Age - High-tech soldiers, laser weapons, and futuristic war machines.
Each age increases both unit capability and the complexity of decisions, making your strategy evolve alongside your army.
Game levels
Before starting a battle, you can select a difficulty setting that changes how challenging the enemy AI behaves:
Normal
A balanced experience suitable for most players. The AI grows steadily and presents a fair challenge as you advance through the ages.
Harder
Enemy units become stronger and more aggressive. You will need smarter resource management and timely unit deployment to stay competitive.
Impossible
The toughest setting is where the AI gets significant bonuses, forcing you to prioritize defense early and evolve smartly to stand a chance against relentless enemy waves. Winning on this mode requires patience, careful strategy, and expert use of special attacks.
